Jack Kay was named the new Provost and Executive Vice President on Friday.  He was chosen out of a pool of 6 finalists that visited campus and was interviewed by students, faculty and administration.  I was able to go to the student forum portion of the interview and he seemed very personable and ready to work closely with Student Affairs.  (Since the Provost is the figurehead of the Academic Affairs devision, it was a primary concern of mine to make sure that the new Provost understands the educational value of student engagement) 

    Jack Kay will begin August 1st, and I am hoping to work closely with him on increasing funding for the library and protecting student employment.
